NHF On The Road - Minneapolis, MN
National Prevention Program Training
Preparedness & Prevention:
Important Information You Should Know
April 28 - 29
Debra Parker, Trustee (LHF) and Evacuee and Lynn
Russell, Graphic/Web Designer (LHF) attended the National Hemophilia
Foundation's On the Road Program in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They presented a
presentation on "Hurricane Katrina" to show what we have been through and the
hope we have for coming back even stronger. This presentation was very well
received and many people thanked us for showing this at the meeting.
In the "Stories From the Bayou and Beyond" they also presented
"Lessons Learned from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita" to help other
communities be better prepared for their own emergencies.
Debra and Lynn also attended the National Prevention Program
training. They are currently working on a Preparedness and Prevention packet for
our families to use to better prepare for the 2006 hurricane season. Also
to help families be more prepared for the everyday emergencies that people with
bleeding disorders encounter.
These will be presented at our Annual Meeting in
June. We hope to see you there!
